Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatment Options
Vaginal relaxation happens to many women, resulting in loss of sensation, friction, and pleasure. Vaginal Rejuvenation surgery refers to vaginal tightening, which includes the inside of the vaginal canal as well as the opening of the vagina. Vaginal childbirth and/or aging can damage the vaginal walls and muscles that may result in a relaxed vaginal canal. In many women this results in less friction, less sensation, the feeling of being “too loose” during sex. Less friction often means less intimacy, less enjoyment and a more difficult time reaching orgasm with intercourse.

Vaginal Rejuvenation, usually a one-hour procedure, can effectively enhance the tautness and tightness of the vaginal walls and vaginal opening by decreasing the vaginal diameter and surgically repairing the damage caused by vaginal childbirth. The surgical technique required for each individual patient varies depending upon the amount and type of vaginal relaxation found. In some cases, the damage to the vaginal walls and support tissues may be more extensive and actually affect the support of the pelvic organs such as the bladder, uterus and/or rectum. If this is the case, this foundation of support must be restored prior to rejuvenating (tightening) the vaginal canal.

Labiaplasty Options
Vulvar cosmetic surgery is one of the most intricate, precise and meticulous cosmetic surgeries that is performed today and requires the utmost expertise to achieve superior results. Most plastic surgeons have little or no experience with this type of cosmetic surgery, so patients need to be aware of their surgeons training and experience. The different options regarding surgical vaginal rejuvenation include:

  • Labiaplasty and Vulvar Cosmetic Surgery: This involves the labia minora (inner lips), prepuce (skin folds lateral to the clitoral hood), labia majora (enlarged with adipose tissue, or excess sagging skin), mons pubis region or the perineal region (excess or sagging perineal skin).
  • Labia Minora Hypertrophy: This condition can cause both functional and cosmetic issues. Though there is nothing odd or unusual about protruding labia minora, they can make some women feel uncomfortable.
  • Sagging Labia Majora: Labia majora sagging is a type of labia enlargement. The stretching of the labia majora is usually the result of gaining and loosing weight or severe swelling in this area (usually during pregnancy).
  • Lateral Redundant Prepuce: Most women that have enlarged labia minora have excess lateral prepuce that needs to be reduced as it is just an extension of the excess skin on the minora. If this is not completed, the clitoral hood region will appear enlarged compared to the now reduced labia minora. The majority of Labiaplasties that Drs. Moore and Miklos complete involve reduction of excess prepuce at the time of labia minora reduction to achieve the superior results as seen in our before and after pictures.
  • Excess Clitoral Hood Reduction: The prepuce or the clitoral hood is located directly over the clitoris and acts as a protective barrier to the clitoris. Excess prepuce is not usually removed but only reduced so the patient can have easier access to the clitoral gland for stimulation.
  • Labia Revision: Labia revision or restoration is the procedure performed to correct deformed labia or a botched labiaplasty. Deformed labia can occur from piercings, cysts, tumors, or other medical conditions.
  • Mons Pubis Reduction: Mons pubis reduction is performed in women who have large fatty deposits at the bottom of her abdomen where her belly meets the pubic area.
