Mini Sling Complications: MESH EROSION IN BLADDER/URETHRA

Mesh erosion into the bladder or the urethra is a rare complication with any of the synthetic slings including: TVT, TOT or mini slings. However, it would be extremely rare for the mini sling to find its way into the bladder due to the shorter length of the mini sling. If the mini sling were to erode it could possibly erode into the urethra and the patient might present with: vaginal pain, urethra pain, pain with urination, recurrent bladder infections, pain with intercourse, frequency, urgency or urination.
