Drs. Miklos and Moore presented the largest series ever presented in the world at the American Urogyn Annual research meeting in 2007. They reported the results of nearly 500 cases of Laparoscopic Sacralcolpopexy that they have completed in the last three years at their center in Atlanta. This research is the largest study in the world on this technique and has shown excellent cure rates with very low risk of complications. Many of the leaders of this organization have come to Atlanta to learn Drs. Miklos and Moore’s technique in this procedure as they are recognized as world leaders in laparoscopic pelvic reconstruction (see physician testimonials) and complete more of these types of procedures than any other center in the USA. Dr. Moore also presented their groundbreaking research on the relationship of estrogen and mesh complications in pelvic floor surgery. University of Pretoria , S. Africa, May 2007
Dr. Moore was invited back to S. Africa this year to be the Distinguished International Speaker at the Univ. of Pretoria in S. Africa in May of last year. He made the long journey to teach and perform live surgery for the conference. Dr. Moore was invited secondary to being a leader in laparoscopic and vaginal reconstructive surgery in the US and the world.
International Surgery in 2007 (Italy, Portugal, Argentina, Chile and others!)
Dr. Miklos traveled to Avelino, Italy (southern Italy) in February of 2007 to perform live surgery (laparoscopic sacralcolpopexy) for this prestigious course. Drs. Miklos and Moore then traveled to Portugal in May of 2007 to perform live surgery for surgeons from all over Europe. The doctors traveled to Argentina in July to be the Keynote speakers at the country’s largest annual OB/GYN meeting and performed surgery for the participants. Dr. Moore traveled to Chile in December to teach surgeons from throughout S. America the new TOT mini-sling and introduced this new procedure to that region. They have been honored to have been invited to these cities to spread their knowledge, the results of their research and share their surgical expertise with other laparoscopic and vaginal reconstructive surgeons from around the world. It is an honor to be asked to operate on other surgeons' patients from around the globe.
Drs. Moore and Miklos are once again leading the field in new treatments of minimally invasive treatment for urinary leakage. Dr. Moore was the first surgeon in the USA to perform the new Mini-Arc mini-sling procedure in the USA and they are one of the only few centers offering this new exciting procedure. The procedure is completed with only one small incision and can be done under local anesthesia in 5 minutes or less. Initial results have shown cure rates equivalent to the current, more invasive techniques.
Drs. Miklos and Moore hosted the first international course for laser cosmetic vaginal surgery at their center in Atlanta in January of 2008. Surgeons from all over the world came to Atlanta to learn many of the techniques that Drs. Moore and Miklos have helped develop and perfect. They are both considered pioneers in this field and considered two of the world’s utmost experts in this very challenging new field. Because of their expertise, they have been featured in Self Magazine, New Beauty, Women’s World, the Chicago Tribune, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Cleveland Plain Dealer (Sunday front page) and ABC news.
They also presented the first international study on cosmetic vaginal surgery (Labiaplasty surgery) at the IUGA meeting in Mexico in June of 2007. Their findings are helping women get the proper care they deserve.
Drs. Moore and Miklos traveled to Mexico in July last year to present research and teach at the International Urogynecology Meeting in Cancun. The doctors presented their research on mesh use in pelvic surgery and also presented the first international research on labia cosmetic surgery. Drs. Moore and Miklos also served as Chairmen for the Postgraduate course for the International Audience on Laparoscopic Pelvic Floor Reconstruction. They lead an internationally renowned faculty for the course. Drs. Miklos and Moore are considered experts in the world on these techniques. This is why surgeons all over the world continue to desire to learn from them and they continue to be invited as guest lecturers to present their research all over the world.
AAGL Globe Conference, Wash, DC
Dr. Miklos has once again been asked to chair the annual course on female incontinence for the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy (AAGL) at their international conference to be held in Washington, DC, this year. Dr. Moore will co-chair the course with Dr. Miklos for this international audience.
They have also been invited to present their research on Laparoscopic Sacralcolpopexy as well as vaginal mesh use for cystocele repair (Perigee procedure). Dr. Moore will present the first study in the world on the New Mini-Arc mini-sling and lead a symposium on this new procedure as well.
